Purpose of the Slurry Pipeline:
- Transportation of approximately 30,000 MT/day of Iron ore.
- The transportation cost is 90% cheaper than road transport.
- Eliminates road / railways traffic and also results in road safety of the local people.
- Helps in reduction of Co2 emission and ensures a clean environment.
- More reliable than any other mode of transport.
Introduction to Hedri – Konsari Slurry Pipeline Project:
- First Iron Ore Slurry Pipeline of central India in the state of Maharashtra
- The Slurry Pipeline works is poised to be completed by end June 2024.
- This could be the India’s fastest Slurry Pipeline execution.
- It has one Pumping Station (PS) at Iron-Ore Grinding Plant (IOGP), Hedri and one Terminal Station (TS) at Pellet Plant, Konsari.
- It has Cathodic Protection & SCADA
One 24” x 5 Km long water pipeline, to carry water from the Bande River to the Hedri Iron-Ore Grinding plant, has been successfully completed.
